Hiking close to home often means ocean views and cooler air. Some years it even comes with lots of wildflowers! Either way, Orange County offers some pretty scenery! Sometimes we get our hands dirty with the Laguna Canyon Foundation and help to care for this land we love!
Photos from Alabama Hills, a BLM area in California that puts on a show at every angle. Boulders stack as far as the eye can see, until you run into snow capped mountains. Dirt roads let you explore and camp just about anywhere you like. This place is special.
Anza Borrego is a great place to desert camp and explore boulders and trails. This gallery features some of our camping trips and hikes, and also the great Super Bloom of 2017! Not too far from San Diego, this is a great place to visit and often quieter than other desert parks!
This is a large preserve, that goes for miles and miles. Lava fields, ring loop trail, sand dunes, quiet campgrounds, tons of backcountry camping options, and possibly the thickest forest of Joshua Trees around! Though Mojave doesn't have the "National Park" status, it certainly feels like one!
This is a National Forest that is close to home for us, so it makes for an easy day trip to hike or overnight to camp. Guffy Campground has become our favorite, reachable by a chunky dirt road. This campground sits next to the PCT for easy hiking access, and tends to be quiet at the right time of the year!
Our first international adventure was to our friendly northern neighbors. Vancouver and Squamish treated us to waterfalls, beer, city walks, a rainy suspension bridge, and so much pretty green! It rained the whole time, and we stayed in a tiny house. It was perfect!
We love shooting with film and film cameras, and sometimes, we throw in a roll of something a bit different. This gallery contains some of those "quirky" fun film photos... including Lomochrome Purple, Redscale, and Ilford SFX (black and white infrared-like), and some expired 110 film.
The perfect little point and shoot to throw in a pocket and still get good quality film images. It works in aperture priority mode with a manual focus 35mm Zuiko lens and an aperture selection between f2.8 and f22. This little camera also has a flash attachment, if needed.
